By: Staff Reports Suggested Price Raised To $3 From $2.50
The New York Times announced Thursday it will raise the suggested
newsstand price of its Sunday paper in the New York region to $3 from $2.50.
The increase, which the company said reflects rising production, distribution,
and newsprint costs, will go into effect March 25.
The Sunday newsstand price in the New York region has not been hiked since 1995,
according to the Times Co. The paper said it has made several changes that merit
the price increase, including later deadlines for news coverage and sports
results, additional color sections, and new and larger sections.
The seven-day delivery price increase from $7.20 to $8 that went into effect on
Feb. 5 will not change.
