Newmark Not Interested in Selling Craig's List

Posted
By: E&P Staff Craig's List founder Craig Newmark says that he isn't interested in selling his company, despite the huge potential windfall that would surely result, Reuters reports.

Despite the fact that an analyst earlier this morning said that MySpace could be worth as much as $15 billion, Newmark is quoted as saying he doesn't care about the money, and that he is living comfortably enough. His site generates more than four billion page views per month, but has only 22 employees. It claims to be the seventh-largest English-language site in terms of traffic.

Newmark was also quoted as saying that he wasn't interested in money, even to give away to charitable organizations, saying that finding a good cause was "incredibly hard and time-consuming."
