By: E&P Staff Digital Technology International, Springville, Utah, has signed a multimillion-dollar agreement with Australia's News Ltd. to provide it with the DTI Circulation suite of newspaper circulation, distribution, marketing and reporting software.

The deal covers the company's 11 major operating divisions in Australia, representing a total weekly circulation of more than 12 million copies, including the national broadsheet The Australian. The centrally based system will be used by 325 people across the country.

Used by more than 1,000 newspapers worldwide, DTI Circulation is designed to improve all aspects of circulation and distribution - from processing and managing subscriptions to marketing, billing and delivering products.

"It has taken us a long time researching before making this important strategic decision," News Ltd Circulation Director Catherine Woodside said in a statement. "The software will allow us to manage circulation across all divisions in the same way, and therefore enable News to interface with our customers in a common manner nationally." Woodside also cited management reporting, "greater flexibility around retailer allocations," and better Web access for retailers and subscribers in the choice of DTI Circulation.
