By: E&P Staff Newsday of Melville, N.Y., has appointed Christopher Howard to the newly-created position of vice president of interactive strategy and development. Howard will be responsible for the paper?s interactive business, as well as for amNY, a free daily newspaper owned by the Tribune.
Howard was previously the Director of Classified Advertising for Philadelphia Newspapers, owner of The Philadelphia Inquirer and The Philadelphia Daily News. In that role he was responsible for print, targeted publications, and online advertising including Cars.com.
Previous to that, Howard was a director of finance and planning for advertising at the San Jose (Calif.) Mercury News.
