'Newsday' Appoints Senior VP/Advertising

By: E&P Staff Lee Jones has been tapped to serve as Newsday's senior vice president of advertising with oversight of all national, major retail and amNY ad sales.

Jones has been serving as the interim president of Tribune Media Net (TMN) for the past three months and was senior vice president at TMN for three years.

He reports to Ken DePaola, executive vice president of sales and marketing at Newsday.

"With 25 years of experience, including executive positions in magazine industry sales, Lee's appointment affords Newsday key relationships with major national advertisers," DePaola said in a statement. "He also brings the enthusiastic leadership Newsday Media Group needs in order to seize our opportunities in 2009 and beyond."
