By: E&P Staff Newsday and its sibling papers reported a second-quarter loss Thursday of $2.6 million on revenues of $88.7 million.
Comparisons to the second quarter of 2008 are impossible because the paper was then owned by Tribune Co., which did not report results of individual properties. Cablevision Systems Corp. bought Newsday July 29, 2008. Thursday's results were reported as part of Cablevision?s earnings report.
Included in the Newsday group at Cablevision is the flagship daily on Long Island, N.Y.; amNew York, the free commuter daily distributed in New York City; the newspaper Internet businesses; and Star Community Publishing, the northeast's largest group of weekly shopper publications.
