By: A coroner says a man believed to be homeless has been struck and killed after running in front of a newspaper delivery van in southwestern Pennsylvania.
Authorities say the victim was carrying cigarettes, but no identification. Police in Washington, Pa., have been questioning other homeless people to see if they can identify the man.
Washington County Coroner Tim Warco says the accident happened about 4:30 a.m. Friday on a downtown street.
The driver is not being identified. The coroner says the van is owned by the Observer-Reporter newspaper.
Warco says the driver told authorities he couldn't stop in time when the man ran in front of the van.
