By: E&P Staff The editor of the Cambodian newspaper Samleng Khmer Krom (Voice of the Khmers Kroms) was found in a suitcase yesterday, Reporters Without Borders reported this morning.

The body of Pov Sam Ath was discovered in the Pich Nil valley in Kampong Speu province in the south of the country. An autopsy found that the 29-year-old journalist was strangled with his own bicycle brake cables.

Reporters Without Borders called on the government -- in particular the Minister of the Interior Sar Kheng -- to investigate the murder.

Provincial police commissioner Keo Pisei said the editor's body had been dumped in the valley three to four days before it was discovered. No clues had yet been found which could help identify any suspects. The body was returned to the family on the same evening.

Pov Sam Ath was also the newspaper's founder.
