By: Staff reports Funeral Industry Site Builds Obituary Channel
A site that proclaims itself 'the first publicly traded consumer and
funeral industry Web portal' announced this week the addition of 40
regional daily newspapers to its 'Online Newspaper Obituary Channel.'
The channel on
HeavenlyDoor.com is simply a list of links to the death notice
sections of newspaper's Web sites.
The site currently links to 45 U.S. dailies including The New York
Times, Houston Chronicle, Chicago Sun-Times, and
Denver Rocky Mountain News. HeavenlyDoor.com President and CEO
Lloyd Kagin says the site will continue to pursue relationships with
dailies across the country in an effort to build consumer use of the
site.
Based in Cambridge, Mass., HeavenlyDoor.com has an unusual set of
businesses. Besides its funeral portal, the company is developing
biotechnology compounds for the prevention and treatment of immune
system disorders. The company is publicly traded on the Nasdaq SmallCap
market.
