Billy the goat's odyssey started August fifth when he somehow got free from his cage.
The Swinyer family of Norwood in Saint Lawrence County thinks their dog set Billy free by pushing the cage door open with his nose.
Passerby called police to report the wandering goat.
Police contacted the Potsdam Humane Society, where an animal control officer took the goat under her care.
The Humane Society's manager says it's been flooded with e-mails and phone calls inquiring about the goat.
Eight-year-old Conner Swinyer was reunited with the goat after the boy's grandfather saw the goat's photograph and a story about its plight in a local newspaper.
