NewspaperDirect Inks Canadian Distribution Deal

By: E&P Staff NewspaperDirect, Vancouver, B.C., announced a sales and distribution agreement with Metris Distribution Services Ltd. whereby Metris, a Canadian distributor of major daily newspapers, will market and deliver NewspaperDirect's 400-plus titles from 65 countries, in 37 languages, to home subscribers, businesses, hotels and retail outlets in Vancouver and Toronto, with plans to expand into Calgary.

"The innovative technology, extensive product line and easy-to-use Print-on-Demand system was instrumental in our decision," Metris President Karim Mitha said in a statement.

NewspaperDirect Sales and Marketing Vice President Richard Miller said the alliance not only offer new products and service for Metris customers, but also "will help drive new market opportunities for Metris, NewspaperDirect and our publishing partners across Canada and globally."
