Romenesko.com has the scoop -- and the photographic evidence -- about letters informing Detroit Free Press and Chicago Tribune subscribers that their Thanksgiving newspapers will cost them extra, due to those ever-popular Black Friday inserts touting holiday sales. Reader comments suggest this practice has been in place at other newspapers as well. But if subscribers complain, they'll apparently be given credit.
