By: Lucia Moses Newsprint consumption by U.S. dailies inched up in September, marking the third year-over-year increase this year, preliminary numbers from the Newspaper Association of America show.
Usage rose 0.3%, to 718,000 metric tons. Revised figures for August show a 0.3% rise in usage, to 664,000 tons.
Preliminary numbers show stocks fell 2.6% in September, to 931,000 tons, a 39-day supply. Revised figures for August show stocks down 9%, to 949,000 tons, a 43-day supply.
