NEWSSTAND APPOINTS FORMER THOMSON CEO

NewsStand Inc. of Austin, Texas, appointed former Thomson Newspapers CEO Stuart
Garner to chairman of the board Wednesday. NewsStand is selling digital delivery
solutions to newspapers.

The New York Times recently partnered with NewsStand to sell digital
copies that look just like the daily print edition. And the Times Co. took a
minority stake in NewsStand.

Garner ran Thomson Newspapers until the company was sold last summer.

Other appointments to the board were: Jeremy L. Halbreich, CEO of American
Consolidated Media LP of Dallas and former president of The Dallas Morning
News; Chuck Johnson of Noro-Moseley Partners; and Dick Moeller of SSM
Ventures.
