Newstec Supplies Pioneer Press, 12 Other Plants

By: E&P Staff Newstec of Walpole, Mass., will supply an integrated inserting system for The Pioneer Press printing plant in Northfield, Ill.

Each of the Hollinger Group paper's two remanufactured GMA SLS-1000 8:2 inserters will be on line with the plant's existing Harris collators. The tabloid product will be collated, then delivered on line for insertion, package completion and labeling.

Newstec also received inserter and control orders from: The Times Herald-Record, Middletown, N.Y. (three remanufactured GMA SLS-1000 16:2 inserters, NEWStack and NEWSgroup); The Telegraph, Nashau, N.H. (remanufactured 22:2 SLS-1000A, NEWSCOM inserter control system); The Joplin (Mo.) Globe (remanufactured 12:1 SLS-1000, NEWSCOM); Connecticut Post, Bridgeport (remanufactured 18:1 SLS-1000, NEWSCOM); The Lufkin (Texas) Daily News (remanufactured 12:1 SLS-1000, NEWSCOM); The Standard-Times, New Bedford, Mass. (remanufactured 16:2 SLS-1000, NEWSlabel); The Seattle Times (four NEWSCOMs, 16 NEWStacks, 16 NEWSwraps, 4 NEWSplans); Wyoming Tribune-Eagle, Cheyenne (NEWSCOM); Post-Tribune, Gary, Ind. (NEWSCOM); Tribune-Review, Greensburg, Pa. (four Two-Box modules with lubeless hoppers); Tribune-Review, Newsworks plant, Pittsburgh (two Two-Box modules with lubeless hoppers).
