NewsWay Supports CTP at Two More Sites

Posted
By: E&P Staff The Observer-Dispatch, Utica, N.Y., and the Appeal-Democrat, Marysville, Calif., are the latest U.S. newspapers to implement the browser-based NewsWay workflow solution from ProImage, Princeton, N.J.

The Observer Dispatch will output to two KPG Trendsetter thermal computer-to-plate devices, while the Appeal-Democrat will be driving Creo and KPG CTP equipment.

NewsWay software accepts files from editorial and advertising systems; will integrate with existing planning software or generate its own edition plans; automatically assembles pages ready for proofing or platemaking; tracks progress against schedule; applies page furniture, barcodes, and crop marks; load balances output devices; and provides data to punch benders and plate sorters, as well as ink values to press-control systems.
