Newsy, Columbia, Mo., which produces multisource daily videos for mobile devices and the Web, now offers a new version of its free Apple iPad app, based on suggestions from users, built to maximize iPad features.
Users can now download Newsy videos, play offline in both standard and high-quality, scroll past 20 stories in landscape mode and portrait mode, automatically save playlists, and seamlessly play through from video to video.
Describing itself as a news analyzer, not an aggregator, Newsy offers "context with convenience for on-the-go news users," providing two- to three-minute videos that enable users to see differences in coverage from media outlets around the world.
The service's videos also are available on the iPhone, Android-based smart phones and Intel Atom-powered netbooks.
