By: The Newton Record, which published its last edition on Jan. 14, has been bought by Jack R. Tannehill, owner and publisher of The Union Appeal in Union, Miss., according to a news report.
Meridian television station WTOK reported Monday that the first edition of the new Newton Appeal will be published Wednesday.
The Newton Record began publication in 1901. It was owned by Birmingham, Ala.-based Community Newspaper Holdings Inc.
