Nexstar Media Group, Inc. has announced the appointment of Clifford McKinney as vice president, head of sales at The Hill, the country’s definitive source for non-partisan political news and information. He will be responsible for managing the advertising sales team building the go-to-market strategies for The Hill, which reaches over 47 million lawmakers, policymakers, business leaders and influential digital consumers throughout the U.S. Additionally, he will oversee the growth of the business footprint across advocacy and corporate ESG initiatives. McKinney will begin his new duties immediately and report to Todd Braverman, executive vice president and head of national sales.
McKinney brings over 25 years of experience in sales and management to the Nexstar advertising team, and has worked across every media platform including video, digital, print and live events. Earlier in his career, he served as senior account director at The Hill, and now returns to Nexstar from Bloomberg Media, where he served as regional director, corporate and public policy. Prior to that, he ran his own consultancy, CPM3, and before that, he held numerous senior management positions across the media industry, including Katz Television, The Washington Post & The Washington Post Live, CQ-Roll Call and WJLA-TV. McKinney will be based in Washington, D.C.
