By: Staff Reports Waveshift Program Offers Local Sponsor Opportunities
Waveshift Inc. of Cameron Park, Calif., is offering an NFL
contest for newspaper, radio, and TV Web sites. "We are adding
several useful and fun features that will help attract and retain
an even higher number of users and sponsorship dollars than we
did with the UPickEm College Basketball contest," said Waveshift
CEO Andy Beal.
Waveshift also offers Web contests for pro baseball, pro hockey,
pro basketball, college basketball, and college football. The
company said 23 newspapers participated in its college basketball
game; they expect 50 to 100 affiliates (including TV stations)
for the pro football contest.
Local affiliates typically offer weekly prizes to winners, said
Waveshift Director of Marketing Jim Amen. And they can sell
sponsorships to local advertisers.
There will also be national prizes, including trips to the Super
Bowl and Las Vegas, which are being sponsored by LasVegas.com.
LasVegas.com is owned by Donrey Media Group, owner of the Las
Vegas Review-Journal.
