By: E&P staff The Associated Press today named Nick Evansky vice president and director of operations for AP Services and Technology. He will be responsible for AP's technical infrastructure and support staff worldwide for all formats, according to an AP release.
Evansky has served as director of technology for Associated Press Television News, headquartered in London, since 2000. He has also served as director of Services and Technology for AP's operations outside the United States since 2003.
Since joining APTN in 1994, Evansky has overseen the conversion of the network from analogue to digital as well as the unification of AP's international groups.
Evansky held positions at several broadcast and production companies before joining AP, including BSB (now BSKYB) and NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corp.). He holds a broadcast operations and engineering diploma from London's Ravensbourne College of Design and Communications.
