By: E&P Staff The Newspaper National Network is developing a program to entice shelter advertisers into newspapers. The agency, which places national advertising with newspapers, is working with David Sloan, the former editor in chief of This Old House magazine and current president of Sloan & Associates Publishing Consultants.
"We are extremely pleased to have David work with the NNN," Jason Klein, president and CEO of NNN, said in a statement. "His expertise on how to reach and inspire homeowners will help us serve our shelter clients."
The NNN has developed a newspaper database to support customized marketing programs for shelter advertisers tapping into the medium's audience. Newspaper home section readers, for example, are 34% more likely to be active home improvers outperforming magazines like Martha Stewart Living and Better Homes & Gardens, according to an MRI Fall 2004 release.
