No April Fools in Key West

Posted
By: Lucia Moses For the first time since the mid-1980s, The Key West (Fla.) Citizen won't publish its April Fool's Day special, a fake news front wrapped around the paper.

Marketing Director Nancy Jones cited the war and lack of support from advertisers, some of whom "didn't feel it was in the best taste to put a message in something that mocks the news."

Florida's Palm Beach Post, meanwhile, will continue its tradition of running a joke feature inside the paper on April 1. Said Dan Neal, assistant features editor, "People are probably going to want to laugh more this year than ever before."
