N.Y. Cartoon Museum to Move

Posted
By: Dave Astor The Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art is moving to a larger space in New York City.

Housed near Manhattan's Union Square for a little over a year, the museum plans to relocate downtown to 594 Broadway in the SoHo district. The new space is more than double the size of the previous one.

The museum (http://www.moccany.org) is holding an "empty walls" fundraiser at the new space tonight.

Another museum, the Cartoon Art Museum of San Francisco, is the site of a March 5-April 10 exhibit marking the 100th anniversary of Dr. Seuss' birth. Among the items that will be displayed are newspaper editorial cartoons drawn by the famed children's book author. The museum (http://www.cartoonart.org) is holding an opening reception for the show on March 5.
