'N.Y. Daily News' Hires 'NYT' Execs

By: E&P Staff The Daily News in New York has snagged two New York Times executives. Guy "Doc" Holliday was named senior vice president of advertising operations and Rhonda Novick was appointed senior vice president of circulation.

Holliday, 42, was most recently at the Times as vice president of advertising sales. In that position he was responsible for the newspaper's local and national advertising campaigns and for launching new magazines.

Holliday also worked at Lukens Steel holding several posts including general supervisor of finishing operations and operations manager. He also served as an operations manager for Kimberly-Clark. Holliday was a captain in the U.S. Army from 1986 to 1992. In 2003, he was called to active military duty as a major in the Army, serving during the conflict in Iraq.

Novick, 43, previously served as vice president of consumer marketing at the Times. In that role, she managed the home delivery segment of circulation. Novick also worked in the research, charge acquisition, and marketing departments at American Express.

Additionally, the Daily News promoted James Brill to senior vice president of operations. He was senior vice president of circulation and manufacturing.
