By: Joe Strupp When a fan was thrown out of a recent New York Knicks game for holding up a sign urging that coach Isiah Thomas be fired, most New York newspapers and other media gladly reported it. With the turmoil Thomas has faced in the past year, ranging from a sexual harassment lawsuit to the team's dreadful play, any new fallout was great fodder for the local press.
But today, the New York Daily News took things a step further, printing a full page "FIRE ISIAH" sign inside its editions.
The black and white sign, with the instructions that it is "to be held up during next Knicks blowout," was placed next to the story about the fan's ejection, with a headline reading, "NO, YOU GET OUT, ISIAH." How many will wave the sign and risk ejection?
