NY 'Daily News' Publisher Pledges $100 Million for Cancer Research

By: E&P Staff The New York Times reports today that Mortimer B. Zuckerman has pledged a $100 million gift to Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, The donation will be the largest in the institution's history, and one of the largest ever given to an American medical center.

Zuckerman, who also owns U.S. News and World Report, has given to many causes in the past, with gifts of up to $10 million for Jewish groups and Harvard's Kennedy School of government, but this sum will dwarf his past philanthropy.

Zuckerman has owned the Daily News snce 1993.
