'NY Review of Books' Takes Long Look at McClatchy's Baghdad Bloggers

By: E&P Staff For more than a year, on regular occasions, E&P has been hailing, and quoting huge chunks from, the "Inside Iraq" blog run by the remarkably brave and competent staffers (many of them women) at McClatchy's Baghdad bureau. Several of the women recently won a major "courage" award.

Last month we also profiled McClatchy's 26-year-old Baghdad chief, Leila Fadel. Now Michael Massing has written a long piece on the bloggers and Fadel for the New York Review of Books, called "As Iraqis See It." Fadel tells Massing that the blog offers "an opportunity for Iraqis to talk directly to an American audience....As such, the blog fills a major gap in the coverage."
