'NY Sun' Launches Political Blog

Posted
By: E&P Staff The New York Sun is launching a politics blog LatestPolitics.com, which it says will enhance the paper's "scoop-oriented and issue-packed coverage of politics on the Internet."

The blog will be written and edited by Ryan Sager, the online editor for the paper, as well as the Sun's national correspondent Josh Gerstein. It will provide timely political news and coverage of the 2008 presidential campaign, features on "the art and science of politics" and other video and multimedia content.

"The 2008 presidential campaign will see a greater role than ever before in history for a truly multimedia Web in defining the coverage, and we aim to be at the forefront of that," Sager said in a written statement. "And it's an exceptionally exciting election for the Big Apple -- particularly because New Yorkers are playing such an outsized role in the campaign, with Senator Clinton leading among the Democrats, Mayor Giuliani among the Republicans, and Mayor Bloomberg exploring a possible independent bid for the White House."
