By: E&P Staff The New York Times, in association with The Paradies Shops, has opened a new bookstore in the Delta Airlines Terminal of New York City's La Guardia Airport. The two companies also have operated a bookstore at the Blue Grass Airport in Lexington, Kent. since October of 2005
The multimedia store offers travelers access to computer terminals to access the New York Times website, televisions that broadcast news and features from the Times, books featured on the paper's best-seller list, as well as gifts and items displaying the Times logo.
"In collaborating with Paradies and Delta, The Times is able to provide our readers, and the visitors to New York, with the most sophisticated access to breaking news and to terrific books," Christian Edwards, president, news services of The New York Times said in a statement.
In early 2005, the two companies announced an exclusive licensing agreement for The Paradies Shops to develop and operate the Times Bookstores in airports and sell Times merchandise. The Paradies Shops is a family-owned retailer, operating in airports across the United States and Canada.
