'N.Y. Times' Regionals Using Tecnavia to Create e-Editions

By: E&P Staff Tecnavia Press Inc., Burnsville, Minn., has signed a corporate agreement whereby NewsMemory electronic editions of the New York Times Regional Media Group newspapers will be made available to the public.

The roll-out will include the Sarasota (Fla.) Herald-Tribune, The Press Democrat, Santa Rosa, Calif., The Gainesville (Fla.) Sun, The Ledger, Lakeland, Fla., Star-Banner, Ocala, Fla., News Chief, Winter Haven, Fla., Times-News, Hendersonville, N.C., Star-News, Wilmington, N.C., and Herald-Journal, Spartanburg, S.C., with the remaining properties to follow.

The Regional Media Group publishes 14 dailies and two weeklies, along with 16 city/regional magazines, and related Web sites for all the newspapers. It also publishes national sports Web sites covering the University of Florida Gators and the University of Alabama Crimson Tide.

"One reason the NewsMemory eEdition is such a good fit is that we offer an eEdition platform truly customizable to each properties' preferences," Tecnavia Sales Vice President Diane Amato said in a statement."

Headquartered in Lugano, Switzerland, Tecnavia serves clients in almost 100 countries. Its Media Division products and services include The NewsMemory eEdition, eArchives, historical archive conversions, eProofing, eTearsheeting, eInvoicing, Ad Marketplace, eWebmaster and eClipping.
