NYT Co. Makes Three Exec. Appointments

By: E&P Staff The New York Times Co. has made three executive appointments. At the company?s flagship paper, Roland A. Caputo has been named senior vice president, CFO and David A. Thurm was appointed senior vice president/operations. Joseph N. Seibert has been named chief information officer.

Caputo and Thurm will report to Scott Heekin-Canedy, the Times' president and general manager. Seibert reports to James Follo, the company?s CFO.

Caputo, 48, previously served as vice president and CFO for the Times. In his new position, he will be responsible for the New York Times Media Group systems department.

Thurm, 54, most recently was the company's chief information officer. He was promoted to senior vice president of the Times in 2006. His new role includes oversight of outside printing, New York production, and building operations. He also will handle real estate transactions across the company, reporting to Michael Golden, vice chairman.

Seibert, 49, is coming from Marc Ecko Enterprises, an apparel company where he was COO. He also served as COO of Home D?cor Products and CIO of Viacom.
