NYT Co.'s About.com Adds 500 Original Videos

By: E&P Staff The New York Times Company's reference site About.com had added 500 videos on a wide range of the site's key topics, including: Home, Autos, Computing & Gadgets, Food, Health and Parenting.

"By drawing from individual area experts, and leveraging advancements in technology, we have created a scalable method for producing broadband programming that allows us to quickly and significantly increase the number of videos we can offer users," About.com CEO Scott Meyer in a statement. "We are essentially extending our model, which has been so successful in text and image creation, into video.?

The videos were created by About.com staff and a group of experts, and are played in an embedded video system that links up with related About.com content.
