NYT Sues Over Trademark Violation

The New York Times Company has filed suit against micropayment service Kachingle, claiming the company violated NYT trademarks. Writing for paidcontent.org, David Kaplan reports:

"The NYTCo says that Kachingle approached executives of the paper in Feb. 2009 about giving the micropayments provider access to its articles and blogs. In exchange, Kachingle would give the NYTCo money it collects from consumers, who voluntarily pay for its news distribution service."

After telling the site it wasn't interested in participating, the NYT discovered a blogsite that looks similar enough to that of a NYTimes.com blog page as to insinuate a business relationship between the two companies.
