'NYT' to Open Video for Public Use

By: E&P Staff NYtimes.com is planning to make available its video clips for public use sometime in the fall, the blog Beet.TV reported today.

The Times said it would open up its code allowing video produced by the paper to be posted elsewhere.

Times' spokeswoman Diane McNulty confirmed to Beet.TV the move would occur in Q3.

The Washington Post and The Wall Street Journal make their online videos available to the public.
