By: E&P Staff The New York Times Co. promoted Yasmin Namini to senior vice president, marketing and circulation for the New York Times Media Group. She was previously senior vice president of circulation.
In her new role, Namini will be responsible for marketing the Times' brand across print, Web and mobile platforms as well as the circulation and distribution of the print version, the electronic edition, and TimesReader.
Namini, 47, will report to Scott Heekin-Canedy, president and general manager of the Times, and Vivian Schiller, senior vice president and general manager of NYTimes.com.
In a statement Heekin-Canedy said about the move: "This appointment reflects our drive to integrate the marketing of the Times' brand across multiple platforms. Yasmin is an extraordinary talented executive and under her leadership, we expect to build our audiences even more effectively."
Namini has been with the company since 1984 and has served various roles including chief customer officer and senior vice president of consumer marketing for the New England Media Group.
