NYTimes.com Now Available on Web-Enabled Wireless Devices

By: E&P Staff The New York Times has launched a new site at http://mobile.nytimes.com which provides complete access to news and information from NYTimes.com via mobile devices including Web-enabled cell phones and PDAs.

The new site allows readers to quickly browse through headlines on section fronts or to read full articles from all top-level sections on the site, including the NYTimes.com's Latest News, World, Business, Sports, and Arts sections.

"The NYTimes.com mobile site reinforces our commitment to offer readers the high-quality journalism of The New York Times across all platforms," said Vivian Schiller, senior vice president and general manager of NYTimes.com, in a statement. "We are thrilled to now offer such a rich reading experience on mobile devices. We will continue to take advantage of all digital technology to provide our readers with Times journalism where, when and how they want it."

The mobile site provides a similar navigation to the newspaper's Web site and does not dependent on which wireless carrier the user accesses it through. The site is advertiser-supported.
