By: E&P Staff NYTimes.com relaunched its theater section Thursday with reviews, multimedia content and integrated ticket purchasing for Broadway and off-Broadway shows.
The new section includes a collection of caricatures by Al Hirschfeld and "Theater Details," which offers capsule reviews, story lines, and cast and production information for New York shows currently in production. Readers will be able to rate shows and post reviews in "Readers' Reviews."
The site also promises improved search and navigation, plus multimedia features with audio by Times theater critics Ben Brantley and Margo Jefferson. And a forum allows readers to share thoughts with each other.
The Times' free TicketWatch e-mail now has over 414,000 subscribers. The product offers discounted performing arts offers to readers.
