By: E&P Staff Polopoly, headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, is supplying its content-management system to Switzerland's Neue Z?rcher Zeitung for use throughout the organization, where it will serve as the central platform for development of new digital services in multiple channels.
Polopoly's German integration partner Netpioneer GmbH will carry out the implementation, which is already under way.
Besides NZZ Online, a leading Swiss news Web site, the company's online presence includes a range of complex digital services with high demands on flexibility, scalability and personalization.
NZZ licensed the Weight Club solution developed by Polopoly and Stockholm's Aftonbladet, and launched eBalance.ch in October 2005. The Weight Club offers subscribers individually tailored diets (including hundreds of healthy and simple recipes), exercise programs, and online support through experts' advice, member communities and easy-to-follow progress monitors. Several different subscription options are available.
Based on that experience, NZZ has licensed the full Polopoly content-management system. By choosing Polopoly, NZZ Online will be able to create a single sign-on portal and consolidate its self-service offering, fully integrated with the SAP-powered back-end system for subscription management.
Polopoly, which also has offices in London, develops systems for content-management, personalization and commerce. Its customers include Expressen, and Dagens Nyheter, also based in Stockholm.
