Odds Columnist Confirms That Clinton Campaign Is in Trouble

Posted
By: Dave Astor The chances of Hillary Clinton becoming president have dropped significantly, according to political odds posted today by "America's Line" columnist Benjamin Eckstein.

"Clinton needed to win big in Indiana and be close in North Carolina," Eckstein told E&P today. That, he added, didn't happen in this past Tuesday's Democratic primaries.

The Universal Press Syndicate writer now has Barack Obama at even odds to win the presidency, followed by John McCain at 3/2 and Clinton at 8/1.

Eckstein's previous presidential odds, posted April 25, had Obama at 6/5, McCain at 7/5, and Clinton at 3/1.

"America's Line," which mostly contains sports odds, runs in about 125 newspapers via Universal Press Syndicate. Eckstein also does the "Hollywood & Line" entertainment-odds column distributed by Universal.
