By: Mark Fitzgerald The Standard-Examiner in Ogden, Utah, is looking for a new publisher.
Scott Trundle, the publisher since Sandusky Newspapers Inc. of Ohio acquired the paper in 1993, is leaving at the end of the year to become vice president of special projects for the parent company, Sandusky has announced.
Sandusky CEO David Rau said the chain of seven dailies, five weeklies and 10 radio stations will begin the search for a new publisher soon.
In a statement, Rau noted several developments at the paper during Trundle's tenure. The paper went to morning publication, moved into a new facility and expanded the business into saturation mail distribution, commercial printing and its StandardNet Web site.
Trundle, 65, is a past president of the Utah Newspaper Association. Before beginning his newspaper career 32 years ago, he was a Secret Service agent and attorney.
