Okla. Police Get OK to Exhume Possible Victim of Newspaper Carrier

By: A Craig County judge has approved a request to exhume the body of a 75-year-old Tulsa woman who may have been killed by a newspaper carrier.

Geraldine Lawhorn was buried in Vinita after dying of what was believed to be natural causes in September.

But former Tulsa World newspaper carrier Paul Williford told police after his arrest on assault charges in October that he killed Lawhorn and 73-year-old Donna Stauffer.

Officials say an autopsy will be performed on Lawhorn's body in the next week or so. Stauffer was also believed to have died of natural causes and her body was cremated.

All three women lived on Williford's newspaper route.

He remains jailed on more than one million dollars bond on charges connected to the assault of the third woman.
