By: E&P Staff A fund-raising dinner with Universal Press Syndicate editorial cartoonist Pat Oliphant ended up earning $263,440 for the Truman Presidential Museum and Library in Independence, Mo.

Oliphant showed his depictions of presidents (from Harry Truman to George W. Bush) and other politicians. Auctioned at the end of the evening, Oliphant's art raised the following amounts: Truman ($3,200), Dick Cheney ($1,800), Gerald Ford/Richard Nixon ($1,500), Ronald Reagan ($1,050), Jimmy Carter ($700), Hillary Clinton ($300), etc. Other drawings and donor contributions, combined with the auction, resulted in the $263,440 total.

The Andrews McMeel Universal Foundation was one of the underwriters for the event, held in Kansas City earlier this spring.
