Olive Releases ViewPoint 2.0

By: E&P Staff Olive Software, Santa Clara, Calif., today announced the second release of its extensible digital publishing platform, ViewPoint 2.0, with which it aims to provide an easy way to capture, preserve, access, componentize, repurpose and monetize content for the Web, as well as redefine the traditional markets for rich content.

Olive's ViewPoint platform breaks publication content from any source -- printed, electronic, TIF, PDF, MS Word, microfilm and microfiche -- into individual components such as articles, images, chapters, clauses, headlines, sections, etc. for searching, viewing, and sharing online and through mobile devices.

ViewPoint automates standardization all types of documents into XML components and transforms information into intelligent microcontent. By unlocking information within the content, Olive enables customers to publish their information assets as rich, interactive and searchable media.

Users can search across document collections, individual documents, and sections within documents, and view the results through a Web browser without needing the application in which the document was created.
