Olive Software Partners with Informz to Extend Mobile Service

By: E&P Staff Olive Software, Santa Clara, Calif., is extending its mobile offerings on Blackberry, iPhone and other handheld devices with text messaging capabilities from e-marketing solutions provider Informz, Saratoga Springs, N.Y. Publishers will be able to reach customers on the go with breaking news headlines or other notifications.

Text messages link to the full digital edition, which users can access on their mobile devices. They can view the full edition or a text-only version, depending on user preference or technical constraints such as bandwidth and screen resolution. Publishers rely on Olive's microcontent platform and article-level segmentation to repurpose their articles for display on mobile devices.

For more immediate notification, users can register to have the publisher send a text message in addition to or instead of the sending an email.
