OpenAI's C-Suite will expand with the hires of Sarah Friar as its first chief financial officer and Kevin Weil as chief product officer, the company said Monday.
Why it matters: The firm behind ChatGPT has tapped Silicon Valley veterans with experience managing larger tech companies as it looks to expand beyond a small start-up.
State of play: Friar, who was most recently Nextdoor's chief executive officer, will be focused on the mission of "providing continued investment in our core research capabilities," OpenAI said.
Weil, most recently president for product and business at satellite imagery company Planet Labs, will focus on applying research to products and services.
