Oregon Biweekly Changes Hands

By: E&P Staff Northwestern Country Media Inc. has bought the biweekly Cannon Beach (Ore.) Gazette from TCM Publishing Inc., which is owned by Tom and Cat Mauldin, Gauger Media Services Inc. announced Wednesday.

Dave Gauger of Gauger Media, a media brokerage firm with offices in Raymond, Wash., and Hesperia, Calif., represented the Maudlins in the transaction.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Northwestern Country Media is principally owned by Steve and Carol Hungerford. The company publishes 10 non-daily newspapers in the Dakotas and Montana. The company is relocating from Scottsbluff, Neb., to Cannon Beach, where the Hungerfords will be the Gazette's co-publishers.
