By: Broadening its reach in the Spanish-speaking community, Orlando Sentinel Communications announced last week that it will share editorial content with Telemundo WTMO-TV40.
WTMO will feature editorial content from
The Orlando Sentinel and
El Sentinel, a weekly bilingual newspaper recently launched by the
Sentinel. "One of the first segments we'll do together is a weekly report from correspondent Vanessa Bauza from Tribune's bureau in Havana," said Julie Anderson, vice president and director of multimedia for Orlando Sentinel Communications. The
Sentinel's parent, Tribune Publishing, opened a bureau in Cuba earlier this year.
The TV station will also air entertainment and calendar features from the
Sentinel. In return, the
Sentinel and
El Sentinel will promote programming and events airing on WTMO.
Featuring a mix of Spanish- and English-language articles,
El Sentinel is distributed free to approximately 46,000 households in central Florida, with another 14,000 copies delivered to businesses and apartment complexes.
