By: (AP) The student newspaper at Oklahoma State University has won a three-month fight to get records in an electronic format regarding the grades professors give students.
School officials say the names of the students will be blacked out.
Sean Hill, a journalism student and editor of The Daily O'Collegian, requested the information in November so he could compare the average grades of different sections of the same classes. The Oklahoman in Oklahoma City and the Tulsa World joined in the request.
School officials said at the time they would provide the records, but not in an electronic format. OSU spokesman Gary Shutt now says the school can provide records in the electronic format without jeopardizing student privacy and confidentiality.
