By: E&P Staff Ottaway Newspapers, publisher of dailies from Massachusetts to California, agreed to license several solutions from Digital Technology International, Springville, Utah. DTI solutions.
"With eight dailies in seven locations, we need to work more efficiently," Ottaway Business and Publishing Applications Director Carol Roosa said in a statement. The need to standardize business processes was not feasible with existing systems, some more than 10 years old.
Ottaway began looking for a new system at Nexpo in 2006. After reviewing formal proposals, it narrowed its selection to two vendors, who were invited to demo their systems. Ottaway will use DTI's MediaPlus Circulation and MediaPlus Advertising software.
Besides its ability to identify a classified ad buyer as a subscriber, DTI software's CRM component "will allow us to improve the level of service we provide," Roosa said. Its common household database eliminates advertising and circulation system data duplication and improves the data's integrity, she added.
